How many finishes available in kitchen sinks?

How important is the undercoating?

It's extremely important because it absorbs sound, protects against condensation and helps maintain sink water temperature. All Anupam sinks are spray-coated with exclusive undercoating. With our Sound Guard Undercoating, available on all models, additional sound-deadening pad is applied before spraying.

Which  type of mounting is better-Top mount or undermount sink?

This is completely a matter of personal preference. Do you like the "finished" look of the raised rim of a top mount sink? Our top mount design helps keep water off the countertop. Or you may prefer the trim, clean, uncluttered look of an under mount sink. With Anupam, you'll have many choices in both sink styles.

How do I measure sink depth?

Lay a straight edge across the top surface of the sink rim. Then use a ruler to measure the distance between the bottom edge of the straight edge and bowl bottom, as close to the drain as possible.

How do I compare sink size and capacity?

Bowl depth, taper and radius are the three basic sink measurements for comparing sink sizes. Depth, of course, is the distance from the top of the rim to the bottom of the sink next to the drain. Bowl taper is the inward slope of each side of the sink from rim to bottom. Radius is the measure of the bowl's corners & bottoms where the sides and bottom meet. The point to remember is this: the deeper the bowl, the straighter the slope, the smaller the radius, the more useful the sink capacity.

How do I decide on the size and number of bowls?

Consider how you use your sink. If you have a big family and prepare most meals at home, the bigger and deeper, the better. If you do a lot of entertaining or extensive food preparation, consider a sinkwith a built-in work surface. For a lot of pots and pans, make sure your new sink is deep enough with at least one large bowl for washing. The Anupam collection includes a wide variety of sink shapes, sizes and configurations designed to meet your needs exactly.

How important is the steel's thickness?

It is very important. The thicker the steel, the less susceptible it is to denting, bowing, noise transmission and the hard knocks of pots and pans. The thickness, called "gauge", can be confusing at first, because the lower the number, the thicker the steel. Anupam sinks are made in 19 gauge steel (19 gauge=1mm) -- more than ample thickness for residential sinks.

Are there different types of stainless steel for sinks?

Yes. That's why some steel sinks look bright and shiny at first, but soon rust or corrode. Therefore, the premium-grade steel we select for our high-end residential sinks is stainless steel Type 304. It combines chromium and nickel in exactly the right proportions for superior corrosion resistance and durability. And it's the blend that allows the sink to be for med into the dramatic shapes you'll find in the Anupam line. You'll also find that this steel "gives" a little, reducing the chance of dish breakage.

What to Look For in a Stainless Steel Sink?

Whether you're building, remodelling, or just sprucing up your kitchen, one big decision will be your choice of a sink. These guidelines are designed to help you make the best choice for your kitchen, for years of durability, working pleasure and high-quality appearance.

How to Unclog a Kitchen Sink with a Garbage Disposal

If your garbage disposal sink is clogged, there are several ways you can try to fix it without having to call a plumber. Before trying to unclog it, always switch off the garbage disposal's power source for safety purposes. Often times, a sink can be unclogged using a plunger or baking soda and white vinegar. If there's something stuck in your sink, try using tongs to remove the object. If you think there's something stuck in the actual garbage disposal, manually turn the blades to help dislodge it.

1 Unplug the garbage disposal or turn it off at the breaker. The plug to the garbagedisposal is located under the sink. Turning off the power to the garbagedisposal is important so you're working with the disposal safely.[6] Plug the disposal bag in to a power source once you're finished unclogging it, or turn back on the circuit breaker.
2 Pour 100 gm of baking soda into the garbage disposal. Measure out the baking soda using a measuring cup. Pour it directly into the drain, making sure to hold it right over the centre of the drain so it goes straight down.
3 Add 200 ml of white vinegar down the drain. Measure out the white vinegar before carefully pouring it down the drain just as you did with the baking soda. When white vinegar and baking soda combine, they create a cleaning chemical that helps to loosen any food that’s stuck to the sides of the drain.
- Don't be alarmed when the ingredients start fizzing when they touch each other—this means it's working! - Pour the white vinegar slowly to make sure it all goes down the drain.
4 Let the mixture sit in the drain for 5-10 minutes. During this time, the ingredients will continue to fizz and create foam. Set a timer for 5-10 minutes so you know when it’s time to rinse out the drain.
5 Run hot water down the drain for a few minutes. Turn the faucet to the hottest setting possible. Let the water run down the drain for at least 2 minutes, washing away the white vinegar and baking soda mixture while removing any loosened food as well.
6 Turn on the garbage disposal to test it out. Plug the garbage disposal back in or turn back on the circuit breaker. Flip the garbage disposal switch to see if it runs smoothly, listening for its normal loud sound that signals it’s fixed.

· Granite 25-35% consists of quartz, which gives it strength, 60-65% feldspars, 5-10% mica (biotite) Melting point1215-1260°C, in the presence of water and pressure is greatly reduced to 650°C
· Marble is composed of calcite(calcium carbonate) and contaminants of other minerals, granite it is softer, less well tolerated humidity and temperature drop, when piercing decomposes without melting to calcium oxide and carbon dioxide - CaCO3 - t -> CaO + CO2.
